I wonder if L ever did a handstand to get blood pumping to his head? Maybe it would have helped him think better...
This is a time-consuming, cumbersome, overlapping experiment. Unfortuneatly, the layers became so packed, that not even a lightboard could help me trace the lines. Therefore, I couldn't overlap as much as I wanted to, without keeping the image as true to the original line art. Next time, I'll keep two copies of the line art, so I don't have this problem.
This is really quite brilliant. XD The color is rich, the pose is enthralling, and the texture and use of blank space is very eye-pleasing. XD Keep using that kind of paper! I wonder what it looked like before the scan... XD I guess all I would have to say is that in some places, such as the foot on the left, it has become quite dark, and he blends into the shapes a bit. A lighter tone (or even white) just at the edge might define the contours a bit better. MOstly, however, the sillhouette is nicely defined. Also, in the negative space around the outside... Hm, I don't know exactly what to say about them (the smears and spill-overs, I guess you'd call them. XD). I actually really like them- they give the piece a characteristic roughness and life- but I'd be careful. They're not as balanced as they could be throughout the piece, and thus could be misconstrued as mistakes. On the other hand, if they were too uniform, it could also mess up the effect. Hm.... Well, follow your heart. XD I'll be favin'. XD

I don't follow my heart. I follow my brain.>< Thanks for the critique. It's greatly appreciated. I'd say more but, ever since my dad switched the internet connection to another company, I can't see the images in my gallery anymore. ;______; Oh well, I get the basic idea of what your'e saying. Thanks again.
You know what my art teacher says about people making decisions about their work? If you say you follow something with your heart/proclaim its an artistic vision, you sound like a jerk. Reasoning is the key to everything. That's why I say brain. : /
The purpose isn't completely defeated. Understanding some feedback is better than nothing at all. You'll just need to explain yourself more thouroughly is all. > : D
(Posted in wrong spot. If this appears twice, I apologize.)

Ha, that's a great point. XD I say it fully aware that I'm a walking, talking, belching cliche. XD
I don't know how to word it so it fully sums it up, though... XD Follow your intuition? Your gut? XD I guess I think of artwork as more of a spiritual thing than I should. ;; Most of my original stuff looks like barf on paper... I'll show you sometime! XD (Well, I guess you've seen B.Love. XD Though it does get barfier than that...
And true. XD Do I need to? (I probably do- I suck at being specific. XD)

What? How are you a cliche? I couldn't even guess that about you. .___.
I guess art can be spiritual. It's just the matter of talking about it/defending those choices in an articulate way. Spiritually only goes so far, especially if you're dealing with companies that are paying you to do work. Imagine this:
"Why'd you do that." "Because I wanted to." "Well, do this." "No." "Why not." "It's my artistic vision." "Your artistic vision sucks. Change it." "No." "You're not doing what I asked you, without any good reason. You are a waste of my money. You're fired.!"
Yes. My commenting on B.Love only leads to assumptions that I saw it...of course I saw it. Don't say guess. >< Regardless, that was a pretty good deviation. The others can't be that bad...
Yes you need to. >< Take a banana and write about every little thing you notice. I have faith you can come with something more than a paragraph.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
